The Timeline

ONE – THE BOOKING PROCESS

With a limited number of dates available to book per year, I recommend enquiring early to secure your date. Popular dates (peak wedding season etc.) can often be booked 12 – 18 months in advance. All that is required at this stage is a non-refundable booking fee of £100 to secure your date in the diary. The ideas and visions will follow!

TWO – CONSULTATION & DESIGN APPOINTMENT

Around 4 – 6 months ahead of your wedding day, I will invite you both to the studio for an exclusive appointment that lasts up to an hour. During this time, we’ll discuss your cake and wedding day details – I encourage our couples to bring along items (such as invitations, colour samples and materials) that will allow us to explore your visions. If you are not local to the studio, we can host the appointment via zoom and a tasting box will land on your doorstep for UK-based couples.

THREE – SKETCHES & DESIGNS

Having sketched design ideas at our studio consultation, around 7 – 10 days following your studio appointment, I will email you across a full digital sketch of your proposed wedding cake design. This will also include the final investment for the creation.

FOUR – FINALISING THE FINER DETAILS

The countdown to your wedding cake creation begins! 6 weeks ahead of your celebration, I will finalise the finer details. Your balance will also be due in full at this time (with the booking fee of £100 deducted). Please note; I will also liaise with any other suppliers that will be involved in the wedding process, such as your florist should we use fresh florals.

FIVE – THE WEEK OF THE WEDDING

The week of the wedding, I will be in touch with your wedding venue to arrange a suitable time to deliver and set-up your cake. During this time, I will also confirm details with any other suppliers who are involved in the cake. Your only job at this point is to enjoy the lead up to the date and on-the-day itself, to ensure you manage to enjoy a slice before its devoured.

THE DELIVERY & SET-UP

I will hand deliver and set-up your wedding cake to ensure you are served nothing but cake perfection. Due to the complexity of each design, my wedding cakes are incredibly fragile and are therefore assembled tier-by-tier, which takes a skilled hand and years of experience. The delivery and set-up of your wedding cake is calculated based upon mileage and time – please let me know where your wedding venue is based and I can include this quote as part of your initial enquiry.

I deliver to a large selection of renowned wedding venues throughout Scotland, including Carlowrie Castle in Edinburgh, Cameron House Hotel Loch Lomand, Boclair House Hotel in Bearsden, Rowallan Castle in Ayrshire, Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club in Edinburgh, Fingal in Edinburgh, to name just a few. Should your venue not be listed above, please do enquire further, as I am incredibly flexible travel-wise and will ensure that I can get to the venue of your choice.

Please note; a full verbal handover of your wedding cake is given on-the-day to your venue’s staffing team, along with written notes confirming the cake flavours and allergen information etc.
